Proposal and Design of Dual-Polarized Frequency Selective Absorbers with Passband and Notched-Band

In this paper, two dual-polarized frequency selective absorbers (FSAs) are proposed with a passband and a notched band within wide absorption bands. For each FSA, it consists of two-layered metal structures with an air gap in the middle. At top layer, a hybrid resonator is applied to generate a wide absorption band and a stop/pass band. At bottom layer, two different types of structures are separately applied in the design. By using a square loop or a patch backed ground as bottom layer, the FSA performs a passband and a high-selective notched band, respectively. The resultant absorbers, with a thickness of only about 0.08 λ L at the lowest operating frequency, exhibits over 100% operating bandwidth. In final, one prototype of the proposed notched-band absorber is fabricated and measured, and reasonable agreement is attained.
