|Abstract:||This paper proposes that China could play a leading role in developing world social harmony both in international relations and among people in other nations worldwide. The bases for this proposal are ex-plained in three parts. First, the need for worldwide social harmony is described by presenting the historical background that has led to widespread disharmony in the past, and by revealing why the world is currently headed for greater disharmony. Second, the reasons that China would be an appropriate nation to play the important role as a leader in developing world social harmony are explained. Third, some suggestions for how China could facilitate greater world social harmony are presented.|
