Other Abstract

Hong Kong's resilient economic outcome in 2017 was sustained mainly by strong domestic demand, especially private consumption, supported by buoyant property and stock markets. Economic tie with the Mainland further strengthened and financial markets of the two more integrated. To ensure future development, Hong Kong has to further reinvigorate its economy and to capitalise on the opportunities brought about by policy initiatives including the Greater Bay Area development and the Belt and Road Initiatives.
