AbstractWe propose a facile, inexpensive and high-precision microfabrication method for engineering superlyophobic surfaces (SLS, simultaneously superhydrophobic and superoeleophobic) on various curable substrates. By using double-layer photoresist undercut and "soft replication" process, uniform T-shape micro structures have been readily transferred to polymer replica like poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), which enables mass and low-cost production of SLS on curable materials. Contact angle (CA) > 150° and low CA hysteresis (CAH) have been achieved for water and hexadecane on transparent PDMS and PMMA SLS. This technology breakthrough may initialize the wide applications of engineering SLS for liquid handling.
