AbstractAs one of new-emerging biometrics techniques, palm vein recognition has received wide attentions recently. In recent years, local descriptor, direction coding and correlation filters-based methods are popular for palmprint, palm vein, and finger vein recognition. In this paper, we make a performance evaluation for palm vein recognition using these methods. The experimental results show that the methods based on direction information can achieve better recognition performance.
